The Japanese Interior Design is an unique pattern of modelling the insight of a home. The Asian style is somehow distant from the Japanese decoration – the model seems to have no common futures with any other Asian culture and the traditional ways of arranging and completing the design elements is completely original. This is the reason why the Japanese design is getting more and more popular among people from both the West and Asia.
The Japanese design has a particular feature that is making it quite preferred – the attractiveness of the style is unquestioned. The low furniture is quite comfortable and quite preferred among young people who find it innovative and unusual even though that the style is thousands of centuries old. The typical Japanese discipline seems to be quite obvious even in the design methods used in this particular design approach – the simplicity and the mild colours presumably imply a feeling of order and the low furniture highlight the attractive simplicity that this style offers. The functionality and beautiful simplicity of wooden boxes comes to mind.
Another feature of the design approach is the usefulness – the low furniture for example uses less space, needs less cleaning and is easily maintained. It is also much more affordable and thus you can make your home an extraordinary place to be using less money than any other attractive design approach. The other features of the design are also inspired by the effectiveness – the simple decoration leaves more useful space for the inhabitants of the premises and the mild colours relax the eyes and contribute to the overall pleasure from having a break at home.

Japanese traditional architecture is a distinctive element in the Japanese culture and carries a huge traditional meaning for the people of Japan. Strongly influenced by the Chinese architectural approaches during the Tang dynasty that dominated over Japanese development, the distinctive Japanese architecture has a number of unique features and development process that make it a fascinating form of ancient Asian art. Modern Japanese architecture blends traditional elements like this with modern styles, such as pine furniture, to create a fusion unique to the Japanese.
The Japanese architecture, as mentioned above, has been strongly influenced by the Chinese construction methods. The sharpened edges of the building roofs, the foundations that have been constructed almost perfect from an engineering point of view, the distinctive floors in a building with intersections and simplified decoration elements are just several of the features of the Japanese architectural arts and genius that are still used in the modern construction in Japan.
However, several developments in the Japanese architecture were quite important for its traditional look and fascination. During the Azuchi-Momoyama Period ( 17th-18th century) the Japanese architecture developed two significant constructional approaches so impressive and beautiful that remained a cultural heritage for the world history and irreplaceable part of the Japanese traditions. The castle first appeared in Japan – this first innovation was completely different from a palace, it was a defensive structure to house the ruler and his soldiers and protect them from the militaristic atmosphere of that time – the features are quite revolutionary for the Japanese architecture – the roof formations of every floor, the prolonged room tops, the heavy rock walls and the lack of specific external decoration were the main features of the Japanese castle.
The shoin on the other hand was a small premise for landowners – heavily decorated study, with the typical slide doors and lit spaces designed specially for meetings with the local community. Such premises formed the distinctive Japanese internal design and established a traditional line in the Japanese home decoration – simplicity and reliance on light, little or non additional decoration and significant comfort.

Home of one of the best sport facilities in London, Brunel University is definitely an example of advanced architectural achievemnts at the disposal of its students. The Indoor Athletics centre is quite an impressive architectural achievement with fascinating design and offering amazing sporting opportunities for the students.

The architects from DMA have developed and organised the project and the construction and the facility, that also includes a separate Netball Centre. The advanced technology applied and the significant amount of money that was invested in the building made sure that the project would really be fulfilled at the top rates. The cost of the construction is estimated to have been almost 7,5 million British pounds, funded by Sport England. The project was completed in 2005 and so far it is one of the best university sports facilities in the UK. Sportsmen from all over the world ( for example the fastest man on earth Hussain Bolt ) admit that truely, the Athletics centre is an impressive university facility that would fit the modern university environment of Brunel.

The two buildings from the project – the Athletics centre and the Netball playground, are similarly constructed – the curved roof is composed by arches, supported by a stable and strong steel skeleton that reminds me of Pantone espresso cups. The Athletics centre is naturally lit thanks to the glass and the plastic materials used so that during the day less electricity would be spent on lights. The ventialation systems have the optional natural ventilation system with open air tubes to filter the air. The bumper endings of the buildings create a good condition for isolation and maitain the pleasant sporting environment. The 110m long running track, with high jumps area and throws areas are an achievement for the architects who successfully combined several disciplines in a building big enough for conducting athletic competitions and netball games.

During the 13th century, the Second Bulgarian Empire was the most powerful country in the East of Europe. Its boundaries were touching the three Eastern European seas – the Greek White Sea, The Adriatic and the Black Sea. The ruler, Ivan Asen II, was among the most powerful and politically successful rulers in the Eastern European history and the middle ages, which gave the Bulgarians the opportunity to expand their culture and build the most fascinating capital of that time among all Slavic peoples.

Tsarevets ( meaning “the town of the tsar”), the inner city of the Bulgarian capital Tarnovo, was wholly reconstructed. The architectural themes that dominated over this inner core in the capital, were mainly influenced by the Constantinople architectural movements and the Orthodox culture – the inner city walls were designed by the pattern of the Constantinople city walls, the palace of the Emperor was an innovative building that included several distinctive features – the residence of the ruler, made under the old believies of positioning in the Bulgarian Culture, and the religious places and temples within the palace were decorated by the most prominent Orthodox icon painters of that time.

During the Ottoman invasions in the 14th century and after capturing the capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire, the invaders ruined the palace of Tsarevets – however, after seeing the richly decorated churches and small temples, the Turks feared the christian god – in the memoaurs of their prominent historian ( known in Bulgaria as Abdul Abhar Azis ) of that time, several lines highlight the glory the muslim invaders saw when they entered the inner city – the greatest achievement of the middle ages Eastern European Architecture.

I’d like to give a big thanks to the people over at Enigin Scam, who have unknowingly sponsered this article by allowing me to write it on company time. Thank you, the Ottoman empire is in your debt Enigin.

Probably the cosiest, the most influential and definitely completely different from the European design approaches, the Oriental interior design is quite fascinating and beautiful, a feast for the eyes of the spectator and truely a pleasure for everyone that can afford the luxury Oriental decoration and furniture.

The fist aspect of that particular design pattern that really fascinates people is the colours – the varieties of red, orange and brown are so attractive that the whole internal space looks cosier that anything. The mild colors during the day light gently favour the vision of the eyes, revealing a typical trend in the oriental design – the colors that imply warmth and peacefulness.

As for ornamentation, the Oriental design is particularily one of the approaches in design that is full of different ornamentation styles. Mosaics are one of the methods that are quite spread among the lovers of that style, statues and abstract depictions are good decoration for the walls and glass lights hanging from the ceilings complete the perfect picture of warm colours and perfect decoration.

Mainly spread in the Arab world, the Oriental design is famous for the use of wood – most of the furniture is quite decorated and made from wood this making even the coffee table a piece of art. The typical woods mix perfectly with the thick Persian carpets which are the most beautiful carpets undoubtedly, and the use of coloured glass perfectly contributes to the overall characteristic of this particular design approach. The many pillows and sofa decorations are also a typical feature for the style thus proving the idea of colorfulness and warmth.

If you would like to see examples of this kind of decore, it has been taken on by a lot of the coffee houses in ostello amsterdam.

Any one you now into computers so much you’d think they’d sleep with them if they could. Well now they can at least dream of them. How? With the help of the pixilated bed! Yes. this is a bed covered in fabric that resembles those computer pixels that make up your wonderful photos hop images. Those little pixels that if you blow them up with look like a rainbow of coloured squares. Take a look at this special bed here. http://freshome.com/2010/07/18/limited-edition-pixelated-bed-for-digital-dreaming/. Cristian Zusunager designed this anomaly for a company named Hastens.

The pixilated bed will be available for all to purchase at the end of the year. However I don’t think there will many to buy it as it comes with a hefty price tag fifty eight thousand , four hundred and thirty dollars. For a bed! So after you’ve fainted from the price tag and least you’ll have a nice bed to lie down on.. Hope its comfortable at least for that price tag. $58,430. that’s not a misprint.

So who would buy such a luxury? Bill Gates, movie stars? You never know. There seems to be a market for many surprising items. What one throws out and deans worthless another can see as priceless. Maybe the pixilated bed will be the next must have furniture trend. There are some really good marketing execs out there.

Who’d have thought being without a home office complete with printer and broadband internet would be seen as a must have for every one twenty years ago. Who thought that abdominoplasty would be so readily available. Today its a need. We have been convinced that we must have one together with TVs. It could be the pixilated bed is the next “gotta have”item…

Interior design is a n interesting field. Many rich and famous and large businesses utilize the services of an interior designer to get that “just right”look. Its now know that the colors and textures used within an environment create a certain mood and ambiance.

Designed spaces and luxury designer bedding aren’t just for high cost luxury businesses such as health spas, hotels, and office buildings either. Mc Donald’s and many fast food chains are very particular as to the colours used and decor in their dining spaces. Apparently the bright yellows and reds can make a person feel hungry. Maybe that’s why those ice cream style milkshakes are so popular…

Don’t be fooled into thing interior design is all about looks. There’s a whole science its based on believe or not. Not that you can always tell at first glance. Did you know even the placement and direction of objects come into play. What about Feng Shui. Those Chinese say its all about the direction of the objects that give the right aura and even affect your mood. Feeling down? Don’t know what to do? Change the direction of your furniture!

Maybe the couch its pointing eastward when really the forces of natures energy need it to be pointing southward. Now for the display cabinet. Get some burly guys/relatives or loads of elbow grease (not yet sold in stores) and get a move on, quick. That display unit with all the silver and china is just asking to be pointed North. Done? Don’t you just feel much better now the energies in the room or just right or may be it was the workout…

Central park in Manhatten is a beautiful famous park open form morning until midnight. It is based right in the middle of a bustling city and serves as an excellent spot to take pleasure in whether that be via taking casual walks or jogging (although make sure you have a gps running watch because it is quite easy to get lost in) or strollling along with children in tow.

Way back in the 1880s the need for this park was seen. With the industrial revelution and all the new building within city areas to support the local economy green spaces were fast disapearing. The greanery was quickly being replaced with housing for workers to keep the wheels of commerce moving and industrial buildings complete with the smoke and pollution these factories and sweat shops entailed.

Central park was created in 1853 with the help of a designer famous for this marvelous accomplishment by the name of Frederick Law Olmsted. this was no small undertaking. This huge park which now is a welcome open scenic space in the heart of inner city Manhatten was twenty years in the making!

For this time period this was probably quite short as major building works such as cathedrals could still take about fifty years to complete. Some were so grand they were a few hundred years in the making and whole teams of architects working on them.

Its hard to belive how many trees were planted. Four to five million! That together with about eight hundred and fifteen varieties of vines, and plants and the like and there were six hundred and thirty species of trees planted according to greatbuilding.com. More details can be found here http://www.greatbuildings.com/buildings/Central_Park.html together with some nice photos.

Ideally, if you are considering one of the much sought after island kitchens, you need at least two feet walking space free all the way round to take into account sufficient traffic flow. Sadly, many kitchens are too small although, in some cases, it is possible to knock down a wall to make two much smaller rooms into a good sized kitchen space that is ideal for one of the island kitchens to be fitted.

The Advantages of Island Kitchens

For a person who enjoys the challenge of cooking, island kitchens are absolutely perfect for more complicated kitchen tasks such as rolling pastry. There are no counter seams for debris to get caught in and the countertop is a seamless expanse of working area. Another advantage is the amount of additional storage space. Unlike kitchen units aligned against a wall, island kitchens can be fitted with cupboards, drawers and shelves all the way round, providing four alignments rather than one.

When you take into account the wall and base units that complete your kitchen design, even somebody with every kitchen gadget known should have sufficient space to store everything. Another advantage island kitchens bring with them is space for a breakfast bar. This is easy to arrange by simply allowing sufficient countertop to overhang each side of the cabinets below. Set a row of high stools or chairs with longer legs and you have your breakfast bar; also ideal if you like to sit down yourself whilst rolling out that pastry!
